Giancarlo Morgera began his maritime career as a deck officer with D’Amico Societa’ di Navigazione (1981-1986) before joining MSC in 1986. While sailing to Africa and the Indian Ocean, he earned his captain’s license. He later worked as a port captain in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the United States, coordinating MSC’s vessel operations before transitioning into a commercial role in 1992. After establishing MSC West Coast as vice president in 1998, he returned to MSC USA HQ in 2004, becoming senior vice president for trades. He now serves as Executive Vice President for all liner aspects for Export USA.
